The weekend of 8-9 November, Hijinx present their 2024 Unity Film Festival at Chapter, Cardiff.
Through Friday and Saturday, there’ll be an exciting, diverse selection of film features and shorts (four or five films in each shorts session). All films in the festival are created by and with learning disabled and autistic creatives and actors.
A highlight of the festival will be the screening of two premieres: the Wales premiere of Shadow by Back to Back Theatre, and the world premiere of Lost and Found, a Hijinx production that tells the poignant story of actor Christopher Miller’s adoption journey.
There’ll also be Q&As, panel discussions and an industry session asking ‘how far have we come?’ Plus a family-friendly and young-person-friendly shorts session.
You can buy a day pass, which gives you entry to all the day’s screenings at a greatly reduced price (£25, or £17.50 for concessions).
All films at the festival are relaxed screenings. This means the audience lights will be left on low and you can leave your seat, make noise and move around.
