If you know of (or are lucky enough to have stayed at) the original Martinhal Sagres resort in the Algarve, you’ll be aware of its luxurious-family-holiday-reputation. So here’s some great news: the company are opening a new family resort in Quinta do Lago, Algarve (on the site of the 4 star villa resort previously known as Monte da Quinta Club, if you know it?) Close to Faro airport and the Algarve’s best golf courses, it’s bound to be a big hit.
It’s having a so-called ‘soft’ launch this June until end of October (which means most, but not all of the facilities will be ready). There are 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses, or 3 and 4 bedroom villas to stay in – each with a private garden and pool area.
There’s a Bar plus Gelataria serving homemade ice-creams and the new Blue Room offers teens a space to play games and meet new friends, with internet, Playstations plus table-tennis, pool and air-hockey. For freshly baked breads, croissants, pastries and a range of takeaway options guests can visit Mercado Deli & Bake.
The resort closes over the winter months for further renovations and improvements, re-opening in March 2016. We can’t wait to visit.
