A Stylish Pre-Christmas Stay at Wilde Aparthotel London, Liverpool Street

We kicked off the festive season with a stay at Wilde Aparthotel London, Liverpool Street. Our aim? To combine some Christmas shopping with quality time with our son who lives and works in London. Oh, and to squeeze in a much-needed city break just before the holidays.

From the moment we arrived, Wilde felt like the perfect London base. Stylish, calm, and brilliantly located right in the heart of the city.

Though the aparthotel is dog-friendly (we love!), we decided to leave our rescue dog Hugo at home with our younger son this time. Hugo can be anxious in busy surroundings, so London at Christmas time wasn’t for him.

Why choose Wilde Aparthotel Liverpool Street

We wanted somewhere central, comfortable, and special – somewhere that felt more like a home than a hotel. Wilde stood out for its design-led apartments. It has apartments across London including near Liverpool Street, Spitalfields, and some of our favourite London spots.

First impressions: calm, chic and welcoming

Wilde’s interiors are effortlessly elegant. The lobby and shared spaces feel more like a boutique members’ club than a hotel. Think soft lighting, wooden floors, warm orange walls, brown glossy ceramic tiles and furnishings. Its thoughtful design, and a relaxed atmosphere instantly puts you at ease.

Check-in was casual, smooth and friendly. No formal reception desk, just a warm and welcoming chat in the bar area over a laptop. Then we were soon heading up to our lovely apartment.

Our apartment: beautiful design meets comfort

Our apartment was gorgeous – small and beautifully laid out with top-end fixtures and fittings throughout. Everything felt carefully considered. A fully-equipped sleek kitchen area with Smeg toaster and kettle plus filtered water on tap. Cosy sitting area. Stylish bathroom and wonderfully comfortable bed.

Wilde gives you the space and independence of an apartment, with the polish and luxury of a high-end hotel. Whether you’re getting ready for a day of shopping or winding down in the evening, it feels like a little slice of calm in the middle of the city.

Everything you need for a break away

Hunker down with a hot chocolate, coffee or cocktail at the bar. Or browse the hi-end deli-like shop which stocks all you need for a self-catering break: chilled ready-meals, snacks, pasta, toiletries and more.

You can order delicious breakfasts too. We enjoyed the homemade house granola with fresh berries, coconut yogurt and honey, followed by smoked salmon bagels.

Festive fun: cocktails, shopping & Padella

One of the highlights of the trip was spending time around Spitalfields Market. It looked magical in the run-up to Christmas. We enjoyed festive cocktails, soaking up the twinkling lights and buzzy atmosphere. Then we headed for an Italian meal at Padella, Shoreditch. The homemade pasta absolutely lived up to its reputation – delicious, and the perfect way to end a day exploring London.

With Wilde so well located, everything felt easy and walkable, making the whole trip feel relaxed rather than rushed.
